Kerala recorded 42 per cent polling in the first six hours of the Lok Sabha elections on Thursday.

Kollam, Thrissur, Vadakara and Chalakudy constituencies witnessed heavy polling. However, voting has been slow in Ernakulam constituency.

Cities and northern districts are reporting heavy polling activity right from the morning.

Experts believe that the total percentage will overhaul the 73.37 per cent recorded in 2009 Lok Sabha elections with ease.
